Oh so weird, but oh so wonderful!
I love love love these quirky paintings by Dutch artist Tamara Muller. Unsettling subject matter of domination, submission, and basic animalistic tendencies are portrayed in a fun and humorous way.
Muller will be part of a group exhibition called Chinese Whispers at the Karin Janssen Project Space in London this November. Where each artist was asked to create a piece responding to another artist’s in the show, creating a chain. Sort of like the telephone game that you might remember playing as a kid, but with art. Boy do I wish I could go see it!
Oh… and you may have noticed that all the faces in Muller’s paintings look alike. While they are not quite self-portraits, each character’s appearance is based on the artist.
