Fredrik Åkum…

Oooh fantastic!  These look like some sort of photographic process or filter, but they are paintings!

Swedish artist Fredrik Åkum describes what inspires his work:
“I try to soak up influences without any boundaries or unnecessary rules.  At the moment I’m working from material of my familiar sphere.  Where friends, music, escapades, the route to school, landscape or daily image feeds are all included.  When I work everything is permitted, and nothing should be sacred.”  (via Little Paper Planes)

Åkum is represented by Gallery Steinsland Berliner in Stockholm, where his solo show Lupine Wreath is exhibiting now until October 17th.  You can see more of Åkum’s work on his website, and purchase prints on Little Paper Planes.
